Everything About Ladybugs!

How we became ladybug fanatics!

I've liked ladybugs since I was a little girl. They are the only insect I would ever touch or allow to crawl on me! But recently I've become a ladybug fanatic! One day in my backyard, this sweet little ladybug was crawling around on one of our pink flower potted plants. I started taking pictures of her and it was almost as if this little lady was posing for me. She stayed very still and just waited until I was done photographing her. Then my oldest daughter who was 3 at the time came outside to see what I was doing and fell in love with the little ladybug. She named her Mommy and watched her and held her for about 30 minutes. Mommy stayed on that plant for about a week and then one day was gone, hopefully she went to someone else's garden to spread her joy.

Since then I have been learning all about ladybugs, finding ladybug items everywhere I can and every time I go out to the yard my eyes are constantly scanning for little red dots on the plants. My daughter is also fascinated with these gentle little creatures and we are hoping to spread the joy and wonder of ladybugs to you! :)

I am an artist, Illustrator, graphic designer and web developer. I like to get my hands dirty in a variety of creative projects. I've always been fascinated by ladybugs and the way they always stand out against the environment around them. Libby the ladybug is one of many little characters that I enjoy drawing for my wife and two daughters and also now, illustrating in ladybug childrens books for everyone to love. This ladybug website is a lot of creative fun for me as well. I get to help my wife express her passion for these wonderful little creatures through functional design. As this site has grown, I now help in many of the sections to share my ideas and background as an artist. I also get to be creative in helping in the various ladybug projects we produce.
