I modified this craft idea from one of our family magazines. Basically all you need here is some graph paper and some markers and you can simulate a ladybug needlepoint design in minutes.
This process involves drawing Xs (one x in each box) in a desired pattern and colors to create your ladybug design. One of the things I have found helpful in creating my final ladybug craft is rehearsing the various designs & lettering on a practice sheet of graph paper. Another thing you can do if you would like your design to stay symmetrical, is count a row of squares from the outside in to determine where the center row of the graph paper is. Mark this center point lightly with a pencil.
