Ladybug M&Ms

Ladybug Lovers! This is a really cool idea that I stumbled on that works great for a parties and special events.

Have you every seen those M&Ms with printed messages on them? I first saw them at a friends wedding reception in a combination of colors with a variety of cute little messages on them. What I didn't know until I visited the M&Ms website was that you could print pictures on them. Immediately my wheels began turning and I started thinking about how I could make ladybug M&M's. One of the first things I did was look into M&M's printing process and how they actually print an image onto the little candy.

If you send them a real full color photo they will take the primary subject, crop it out and convert it into a black and white image. They then print only black with what appears to be different levels of transparency. See the image below if I am starting to speak alien to you.

What makes this whole process exciting is that it works great for a ladybug design. I simply chose red and orange images and created an M&M ladybug template. For the base price you can choose up to three different color M&M's

The ladybug M&M template is simply a black and white pattern that prints only the black onto the M&M making a great ladybug candy for parties or special occasions.

Once you are on the M&Ms personalized printing page, uploading is really easy. You can choose to simply upload and print a photo M&M or photos plus text. For the base price of any product you can choose up to 3 colors that suit your party theme. For ladybugs we went with red, orange and yellow for the species we commonly see in our area.

When using our template, as with any other template, once you upload it, you will need to resize and position it on the M&M in their nifty little upload tool. Not to worry though! Just save this file, follow the very simple directions on the site. They are really quick and intuitive. Creating your ladybug candies with M&Ms custom printing is quick and easy.
