Ladybug Paper Plate Craft

This is a really fun craft project. It's super easy and it's a great way to give a craft your own personal touch. It can also be a great craft for children to do and they can play with it afterwards, using the popsicle stick as a handle they can make the ladybug "fly".

Supplies Needed

- 2 standard sized paper plates
- red paint
- black paint
- black pom poms or buttons
- wiggly eyes
- popsicle craft sticks
- glue





Directions:

1. Paint the paper plates red.
2. When dry, cut one of the paper plates in half and then paint a black "head" on the other.
3. Glue the paper plate halves on the whole paper plate to make them look like wings.
4. Decorate the wings with the pom poms, buttons or black paint, making as many spots as you want!
5. Attach the eyes.
6. Glue or staple the popsicle stick to the plate so you can make your ladybug fly. Or you could use them as garden stakes at your next party! But remember to bring them back in at night so the dew doesn't ruin them :)

The ladybug on the left was made by our oldest daughter when she was 3. She had so much fun making this with her Mom. Not only does doing a craft like this let a child be creative and imaginitive it is also a great time to bond and spend quality time with your child. Her favorite part was painting the ladybug red (what child doesn't love to paint!!) and adding the googly eyes to give her ladybug a face. This project was a lot of fun to make and didn't take very long at all once the paint dried.
