Halloween Ladybug Pumpkin Craft

Here's a fun and simple Halloween ladybug craft that we did in our house and you may find fun to do with your children or simply add it to the decorations in your home.

Supplies Needed

- A miniature pumpkin - find these at grocery stores around Halloween or get a fake/reusable one at your local craft store.
- red acrylic paint
- black acrylic paint
- googly eyes
- glue (Elmers or tacky glue works well)

Directions:

Give your whole pumpkin a base coat of red acrylic paint. Make sure to cover the pumpkin entirely. This not only makes painting the rest of the pumkin easier but it acts as a seal to help preserve the pumpkin longer.


      
Using your black acrylic paint, paint an oval for the ladybug's face and paint a black stripe from this oval for the split in the wings over the top and continue it all the way down the back of the pumpkin. I painted the stem black on my pumpkin so that it would look like a ladybug spot and then painted black spots along the sides.

When the paint is dry glue on the eyes in the middle of the black oval area. You may need to prop the pumpkin face up on something while the glue is drying so that gravity doesn't pull the eyes off your little ladybug.
